Albanian Riviera
The Albanian Riviera is a coastline along the north-eastern Ionian Sea in the Mediterranean Sea, encompassing the districts of Sarandë and Vlorë in south-western Albania. It is famous for it’s pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, charming villages and rugged cliffs and offering a blend of natural beauty, rich history and traditional Albanian culture.
The Llogara Pass (part of the Llogara National Park) is one of the most scenic spots along the Albanian Riviera. The pass offers breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea, the surrounding mountains and the beautiful Albanian Riviera coastline.
The Riviera is dotted with picturesque villages and towns that showcase traditional Albanian architecture and hospitality. Some of the most beautiful coastal towns and villages to explore include Palasa, Dhermi, Himara, Qeparo, Borsh, Lukova and then Saranda, Ksamil, not forgetting Karaburun Peninsula and Sazan.
The Ionian coastline is known for its deep waters and its shores have been a primary summer destination for young people and lovers of swimming and waters sports for many years.

Along the shores of the Albanian Riviera, you will find not only enchanting beaches but also Ancien Castels and highly prominent religious structures, build upon mountain passes and hills.

o Butrint: A UNESCO World Heritage site, this ancient Greek and Roman city near the town of Ksamil features ruins from multiple eras.
o Ali Pasha Castle: This fortress located in the Butrinti National Park, the fortress offers panoramic views of the surrounding coastline and the Ionian Sea.
o Porto Palermo Castel is a castle near Himarë.
o Himara Castle: It dates to the Byzantine period, though it was expanded during the Ottoman era.
o The Ancient City of Phoenice: Today Finiq, was an ancient city that flourished under Greek and Roman rule. It was an important center for trade and culture during antiquity. Visitors can explore ruins of ancient houses, temples, and public buildings. The site also includes a theater, a Roman-era basilica, and city walls that date back to the 4th century BC.
